Who are the new Master's students? (infographic)
In September 2015 186 new students started a Master programme at a Flemish university with a VLIR-UOS scholarship. Who are they, where do they come from and where do they study?
One of them is Francisca Adoma from Ghana. She is studying the one-year Advanced master of Governance and Development at the University of Antwerp. ‘I want to broaden up my knowledge and contribute to the development of my country.’
After her studies she would like to teach or work at an NGO in Ghana. ‘I am arranging a Skype meeting with a group of youngsters between 14 and 18 from my church. My message to them will be that they should dream big, aim high in life and work assiduously towards their goals and not be laid back by barriers such as sex, race and family backgrounds.’
For her dissertation she would like to study the problem of violence against women in Antwerp compared with Ghana.
