There is a long-standing history of cooperation between Suriname and Flemish higher education institutions. Since 2003, we have spent over EUR 8 million in cooperation programmes with Suriname, including 1 ongoing long-term Institutional University Cooperation (IUC) programme with Anton de Kom Universiteit (AdeKUS).

The ongoing IUC programme with AdeKUS is the cornerstone of the Suriname country programme.

NOTE: As from 2018, the country programme will phase out and no new projects will be selected for Suriname.
