As a change agent, you want to promote better governance in the face of sustainable development challenges. The advanced Master in Governance and Development studies ways in which conflict is both cause and consequence of governance failures. You will learn to critically analyse governance problems and possible resolutions. You will gain theoretical, methodological, and practical insights required to conduct research on governance challenges at different levels, while engaging in contemporary debates about global development.
The programme offers two tracks with specific objectives and course packages intended for different audiences. The first track explores governance and development issues against the background of violent conflict and the challenge of post-conflict state reconstruction. The second track addresses governance and development from the perspective of local institutions, focusing on the interaction between local, national, and transnational actors in governance processes.
