What is an ICP?

With the International Master Programme (ICP) we fund master courses of 1 to 2 years on a development-oriented subject at a Flemish university. The courses mainly focus on participants from Africa, Asia and Latin America and are taught in English. We grant scholarships to students to enable them to participate in the programme.

Who can receive ICP funding?

To qualify for funding, the master programmes must meet the following requirements:

  • They focus on a development-oriented subject;
  • They mainly focus on participants from Africa, Asia and Latin America who have already followed a course of at least 3 years in a higher education institution, and who have a relevant social position in their home country;
  • They aim to diffuse knowledge and experience;
  • The teaching methods are adapted to the specific needs of the participants;
  • They have a strong South-component.

A new limited call for ICP programmes will be organised in 2020.

What are the funding possibilities?

We provide structural funding for the selected international courses as well as for a number of scholarships.
