Selection of Plasmodium falciparum resistant phenotypes in relation to Gametocytes Carriage Dynamics following

Finished

Hypotheses: 1. Treatment and re-treatment witch ACTs may differentially affect gametocyte carriage. 2. Mutations in the Pfcrt, Pfmdr1 and PfATPase6 genes could be selected against ACT treatment. Broad objective: To investigate ACTs mediated selection of resistant Plasmodium falciparum population and assess dynamics of transmission (gametocytes carriage).
