Exploring opportunities for partnership and initiating joint research on the topic: "Intra-household and gender

Finished

The current project proposal is based upon recent but intense discussions and collaboration among the Ugandan and Flemish promoters of the proposal. This collaboration took off and is strongly embedded in the process initiated by VLIR-UOS in September 2011 to structure its cooperation more alongside broader country strategies for university cooperation and which culminated in the March 2012 matchmaking activities. During the matchmaking, clear synergy was visible among the research track record and future research plans in the area of ‘gender & development’ of the Ugandan and Flemish promoters and an intensive process of exchange and drafting started. Whereas this specific process is rather recent, it is obviously embedded within the track record of gender research of the Ugandan and Flemish promoters. While both promoters have not collaborated before, there is some history of institutional cooperation between MUST and the IOB through the collaborative research and students exchange program under the 2007/2011 Faculty of Development Studies capacity building project in collaboration with IVO, University of Tilburg (Netherlands) and funded through NUFFIC.
