Identification of abiotic controls on paddy soil NH4 release wothin a rice growing season to improve fertilizer

Finished

Lack of knowledge on N mineralization in subtropical paddy rice soils in Bangladesh leads farmers to fill up this N requierment by costly mineral fertilizers, with low efficiency. This PhD aims to elucidate the role of abiotic soil factors in the anaerobic N mineralization process. The PhD should result in a workable set of soil parameters to predict release of NH4 in a rice growing season.
