Agricultural cooperatives in Northern Ethiopia: Capacity building and impact assesment through collaborative research

Agricultural cooperatives aim at improving yields and incomes of member farmers by pooling resources and efforts for ecological, social and economic empowerment of its members. This project analyses the impact cooperatives have on livelihoods and the environment, using qualitative and quantitative data and methods. The project will strengthen the research and education capacity of the Department Cooperative Studies at Mekelle University and contribute to developing the operational capacity and competititiveness of cooperatives in Tigray.
