Vibration-based assessment of civil engineering structures (VIBRAS)

Ongoing

The project aims at research and training on vibration-based methods for the evaluation of civil engineering structures which are exposed to dynamic actions (e.g., traffic, wind). Focus lies on response prediction and fatigue assessment of railway bridges and wind load identification for antenna towers. A methodology, based on the joint use of experimental data and numerical simulations, will be developed. The acquired know-how will be transferred to other Cuban actors, to integrate the technology in management and decision making for maintenance, strengthening and repair of infrastructure.
