Joint project to strengthen research skills on molecular epidemiology and to uncover malaria transmission features

Finished

The Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana (UNAP) is situated in the Peruvian Amazon which is inhabited by population highly affected by infectious diseases like malaria. UNAP could play a major role on the improvement of the quality of life of the affected population however, UNAP is still a weak academic institution. The project intends to strength the research and education capacity on malaria molecular epidemiology of UNAP through the support of a stronger Peruvian Institution (Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia) and the University of Antwerp by exchanging students and lecturers, doing joint research and co-organising training courses.
