A course for innovative teaching and research practice for teacher trainers in Ecuador

Finished

This project supports educational innovation in the UTN by developing and implementing a blended course based upon the principles of design-based research. The Faculty of Education, Sciences and Technology (FECYT) of the UTN is the necessary catalyst for innovation and education quality in the northern region of Ecuador, where the UTN delivers the only teacher training. A group of 20 teacher trainers from the UTN will be professionalized by their enrollment and active participation in the development, implementation, evaluation, dissemination and continuation of the course. The main objective is the strengthening of the research skills by applying them on curricular challenges and classroom practices. This course development is conducted in co-creation with all stakeholders (coordination north and south, 20 participants, 5 preservice teachers). The new methodology will be implemented in 5 to be renewed careers of the UTN but will also inspire at least 10 other teacher training institutes (universities and institutes) by organizing several dissemination actions in order to adopt the course.
