Second PSP Joint Steering Committee Meeting
The second Joint Steering Committee Meeting of the Policy Support Programme (PSP) took place on Tuesday May 27 May, bringing together the three PSP research projects, key institutional partners, and stakeholders. PSP is commissioned by the Belgian Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DGD) and jointly coordinated by VLIRUOS and ARES.
Held annually, the meeting provides a platform for collaboration, learning, and strategic reflection. Its core aim is to facilitate the exchange of progress updates, good practices, and challenges among the PSP projects, while fostering mutual learning and alignment across the programme.
The meeting was structured in two main parts:
Part 1: Research teams from PSP Clear (Climate & Environment), PSP Spring (Social Protection, Inclusive Growth & Inequality), and PSP Refract (Fragility & Resilience) presented the progress of their projects and shared their priorities for the upcoming year.
Part 2: Interactive brainstorming sessions focused on strengthening the link between researchers and stakeholders, in support of PSP’s overarching goal: to conduct policy-relevant research that bridges the gap between science and society.
We extend our thanks to all participating institutions and individuals, including DGD, Enabel, the Platform for Decent Work, and ITM, for their valuable contributions. The exchanges were rich and constructive, and we look forward to seeing how the projects continue to evolve in the year ahead.
