Agreement between Belgian minister and VLIR-UOS on university cooperation for development
On April 22 2010 the Belgian minister for Development Cooperation Charles Michel and representatives of the Dutch and French speaking university umbrella organisations VLIR-UOS and CIUF-CUD signed an agreement on the reform of university cooperation for development. VLIR-UOS compensates CO2 emissions of air travel through spin-off of university cooperation for development project in Ethiopia
VLIR-UOS compensates the CO2 emissions of air travel of the staff and the members of the board. In order to assure a close link between climate change mitigation and development cooperation we have chosen CO2-gift and specifically the spin-off project of former VLIR-UOS Ph D scholar Bert Reubens regarding sustainable reforestation in Ethiopia. The Research Platform for Climate Change and Development Cooperation (KLIMOS) provided advice on this topic. |

ICP Get Together Day 2009
